There is no denying that TV's latest talk show, The Real, has created quite a buzz.
With a familiar show format but a whole new energy, 495 Productions Founder & President and show Executive Producer, SallyAnn Salsano, dishes to In Touch about her latest project and what it took to create small-screen magic.
For The Real, which just wrapped an experimental summer run last Friday, it was the show's alternative approach that captivated viewers.
"I kind of love it because we were kind of like the summer sleeper. There was so much buzz about all the summer programming and I think that once we aired, people started talking!" SallyAnn, one of the top female producers in the industry, whose credits include Jersey Shore and Snooki & JWoww, shares.
Featuring an eclectic group of women - Adrienne Bailon, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Tamar Braxton, Jeannie Mai and Loni Love - the women left no topic off limits and had zero inhibitions when it came to expressing their opinion on the show - a concept that SallyAnn felt would pull people in.
"It literally is like having brunch with your girlfriends. When you're watching other talk shows, they're giving you advice based on how they live your lives and when you're watching this talk show, our hosts are indeed our audience," SallyAnn explains. "These girls make you feel comfortable. You can laugh with them and have a good time with them. They're all so great."
From dishing on exes - like when Adrienne revealed she wanted to get her tattoo of former boyfriend Rob Kardashian's name on her backside removed- to talking sex, child-bearing and even rocky relationships; the ladies made sure to surprise us every day they were on air, showing us something we don't always experience with other talk shows.
"I'm a big fan of The View and The Talk, but with The Real, it's my generation," SallyAnn has said. "We really got honest with the audience."
