EXCLUSIVE: Joan Rivers
Talks Reese
Witherspoon Arrest:
"She Wants To Be The
Drunk Soccer Mom"

It’s really no surprise that Joan Rivers had something to say about America’s sweetheart Reese Witherspoon’s arrest. In fact, Joan thinks her weekend arrest could completely alter Reese's image.

“She’s no longer the girl-next-door,” the Fashion Police star told In Touch exclusively. “Now she wants to be the drunk soccer mom.”
Reese and her husband, Jim Toth, were arrested and briefly jailed this weekend after a police officer pulled them over just after midnight on Friday for Jim’s erratic driving. He was charged with a DUI and Reese with disorderly conduct after she tried to pull the “Hollywood card” to get them out of the situation.
As In Touch previously reported, the Oscar-winning actress, 37, refused to listen to the officer’s instructions while he arrested Jim, 42.
The official report states that “Mrs. Witherspoon asked, ‘Do you know my name?’ I [the officer] answered, ‘No, I don’t need to know your name.’ I then added, ‘right now.’ Mrs. Witherspoon stated, ‘You’re about to find out who I am.’”
“I think it’s all pre-planned,” Joan tells In Touch. “It’s brilliant. From now on we’ll think of Reese as a drunken soccer mom, and I think that’s great.”
And her thoughts on Reese’s mug shot?
“Oh, I think you should smile in a mug shot,” she says, referring to Reese’s closed-eyes and slight smirk photo. “That’s going to last you forever.”
Reese has since apologized for her behavior, admitting she “clearly had one drink too many.” She and Jim are expected to appear in court in late May.
