While Cory Monteith's mother was in Vancouver making the hard decision of what to do with her son's body, his dad, Joe, was also coping with a difficult time.
Along with the sad news of his 31-year-old son's tragic passing, Joe tells In Touch that no one in his family has clued him in about any memorial arrangements following Cory's death.
"Are there services for the family here in Canada? That's a good question. I am the last one to know anything!" he told In Touch today.
When it comes to Cory's close friends and family, a frustrated Joe says not one person has kept him in the loop — including Cory's girlfriend, Lea Michele.
"They haven't told me anything about what's going on," he adds. "I haven't spoken to Lea, either."
On July 13, Cory was found dead in his room at Vancouver's Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel. His autopsy revealed he died from a lethal mixture of drugs, including heroin and alcohol.
Earlier this week, Joe revealed the moment he found out about the sad news.
"When they did break the news to my wife, she almost fell over, in fact, I had to grab her," said Joe, who divorced Cory's mom, Ann McGregor, when Cory was 7. "And I had to ask them again what was that you said? It really didn't sink in. It still really hasn't."
But that seems to be the only phone call he's received.
Speaking to TMZ, Joe revealed he was "totally devastated" when his ex-wife held a viewing at the hospital with Cory's brother, Shaun, and Lea. Cory's body was cremated shortly after and his dad never got a chance to bid farewell.
“I always loved both my sons and am going to miss Cory very, very much,” Joe said. “I’m saddened at the fact that I couldn’t have been there to see my son before he was cremated.”
