Some students at Ethiopia's top religious college have been holding a hunger strike since Sunday, over the closeness of the Orthodox Church and the government, alleged restrictions on their speech and, of course, Beyoncé's recent meeting with their patriarch, Abune Paulos. The singer and the patriarch met before she performed as part of celebrations of the country's millennium. Student Daniel Techale said 30 of his friends had been hospitalized since the hunger strike began and accused Beyoncé of "provok[ing] the whole situation" while blasting the patriarch of "practically a nonreligious act. It's unacceptable, or inappropriate, to say the least." Maybe they took offense over Beyoncé's sexy sequined outfits?
