Boyd Holbrook Says Elizabeth Olsen Dumped Him (on the Phone) the Same Day His Best Friend Died

There’s no “right” way to dump someone — but there’s definitely a wrong way! Like doing it on the phone.

Though Elizabeth Olsen and her ex Boyd Holbrook never confirmed their engagement or their split, the actor, 34, opened up about their breakup, telling Man of the World, “On the same day that my best friend died, I got a call from my girl to tell me it was over.”

Though he didn’t reveal his ex, 26, by name, photographer David Armstrong — the best friend he mentioned — died in October 2014 at age 60 after battling liver cancer; at the time, the couple was rumored to be engaged.
