Pizza Guy Becomes
Local Celebrity – Fans
from All Over Asking
for Photos and ‘Pizza
Big Mama’s & Papa’s Pizzeria in Hollywood is getting a lot of attention – and it’s all thanks to Edgar Martirosyan, the guy who famously delivered pizza during the Oscars.
On Friday, Ellen DeGeneres caught up with “Edgar the pizza guy” via video chat during Ellen to see how business has been going since March 2.
“It's been really crazy, very busy, people coming from all over – from Vegas – taking pictures, getting photos with me,” the franchise’s co-owner shared.
“A lot of people calling from different states too. They are asking for pizza shipping and stuff like that so it’s been really crazy.”
The face of the pizzeria place, who has now become a local celebrity, is still waiting for that special person to enter the Sunset Boulevard location.
Edgar hands out pizza to Brad Pitt, Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts among other A-list celebs.
“I'm still waiting for Julia Roberts,” Edgar reveals.
Among the A-list crowd (Brad Pitt, Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence) Edgar handed out pizzas to, Roberts was the one star he was most excited to see.
"She was my like woman in dreams. I was always watching her movies back in Moscow," he said. "So it was something crazy to me to deliver [her pizza]."
As a thank-you to Ellen for bringing business to the pizzeria—and for the $1,000 tip he received—Edgar named a pizza after the comedian: Ellen’s Pizza.
“When I was hosting, one of my favorite moments was when I ordered pizza for the entire audience and we got this amazing guy,” Ellen said. “He turned out to be the coolest…He is a great guy with a great story and I want to continue to promote his business.”
