Instead of reporting on someone else’s engagement, E! News co-host Jason Kennedy can finally report on his own!
The 32-year-old TV personality surprised his girlfriend, Lauren Scruggs, in her hometown of Dallas on Friday and sweetly proposed to her as she overlooked her balcony.
In the field where Jason was standing, he spelled out “Will you marry me?” with candles while close friends and family looked on. The fashion blogger then joined him where he proposed to her with a Jennifer Meyer diamond engagement ring, E! reports.
The 25-year-old model notably lost her left arm and suffered severe facial injuries after she accidentally walked into a spinning airplane propeller back in December 2011. Two years later, in the early summer of 2013, she met Kennedy.
Jason planned the surprise proposal by making it seem like he was flying to New York, but instead flew to Lauren's Texas hometown.
“Truth is I never flew to New York, I flew to Dallas and asked her if she would spend the rest of her life with me. I love you @laurenscruggs,” he captioned the Instagram pic.

"It's a blur but I can't stop smiling. She told me I couldn't surprise her, but I got her good. This is the best night of my life," Jason tells E!.
After the proposal, Scruggs, who penned Still LoLo: A Family's Journey of Hope after her incident, tweeted, “Possibly the best night of my life.💗👯 I love you beyond.”
Aww! Congratulations to the newly engaged couple!
