‘Duck Dynasty’: Willie’s Desire For Fame Causes TV’s New Favorite Family to Feud

In Touch, on newsstands now, discovers that the success of the blockbuster A&E show Duck Dynasty isn’t sitting well with all members of the now-famous clan.
The Robertsons’ meteoric rise to fame is thanks in large part to Willie, who transformed their humble duck-call business into a multimillion-dollar enterprise and then turned it all into reality TV gold. But his desire for fame is causing a rift with his kin. “When the family is resistant to Willie’s ideas, he says they don’t see the big picture,” a source exclusively tells the mag. “The truth is they just don’t care as much.”
Prior to the show taking off, Willie “tried out for The Amazing Race and almost went on Survivor,” the source says of the 41-year-old. He even roped in eldest brother Alan, 47, to make this season “more exciting,” our source reveals. “Willie wants to build them a bigger empire.”
But the rest of the cast isn’t having it. “It’s gotten to be too much for Phil,” says the insider, adding that the 67-year-old wants to focus on preaching. Jase, 44, remains very wary of the show, while youngest brother Jep, 35, and wife Jessica want out, too. “They fear the show will damage their marriage.”
