Today in #BestFriendGoals news, Drake, 30, got a tattoo of Lil Wayne, 34, on his tricep — a giant one, we might add — and his BFF was reportedly shocked by the permanent gesture. Cue the “awws!” Yet because of its placement on the back of his arm, the tattoo went unnoticed for five months, at least to the general public.

While overseas earlier this year, Drizzy sent his mentor a photo of the new ink, who was reportedly “caught off-guard” but “beyond floored and honored, since loyalty’s a big deal with him,” TMZ reported. Get to know more about the rappers’ bromance in the video below:

The “Hotline Bling” singer joined the five-time Grammy award winner on his Tha Carter III Tour, and together they released collaborations like “I Want This Forever,” “Ransom,” and “Right Above It.” In another song, “Ignorant Sh-t,” the rappers even reference their man crushes when Lil Wayne raps, “Drizzy Drake what the lick read, we make magic, boy; Roy and Siegfried.”

Drake’s tattoo collection has steadily grown over the years, as he grew from little Jimmy Brooks on Degrassi to one of the hottest rappers in 2017. He’s no Harry Styles though, whose ink appears sporadic and random. Instead, Drizzy’s tats have a deep emotional connection to the star, much like his lyrics. Would we expect anything less?

Along with his portrait of Aaliyah — who he’s never been shy about having an intense love for — he has an owl for his label and brand, faces of family members, and the CN tower, based in his hometown of Toronto. In other words, Lil Wayne must hold a very special place in the rapper’s heart. There’s no word yet as to whether or not Weezy will return the gesture — after all, he’s pretty tatted himself — but we’re obsessed with their friendship regardless.
