Anyone who caught a sneak peek of rapper Drake’s leaked album Nothing Was the Same knows that he’s more than just a pretty face! But a recent act of heroism proves that he has a big heart to match his big voice!
Drizzy, 26, teamed up with fellow rapper The Game, 33, to donate $22,500 to a woman who lost her five young children and boyfriend in a devastating fire.
Anna Angel was working at Burger King when she learned the tragic fate of her family; The Game reached out to her place of employment and asked how he could help, which led to the two hip hop stars donating $10,000 each to help pay for funeral arrangements.
“When things like that happen, I never know what to say,” The Game said in a phone call to NPR. “I send my heart, prayers and my love her way.”
Additionally, producers from his reality series Marrying the Game topped off the donation with an extra $2,500 for Ms. Angel to get a car.
Community members have also donated $16,000 in hopes that she’ll be
The rappers’ donation comes as part of a bigger project organized by The Game, called The Robinhood Project, which aims to give away $1 million of his own dollars to people who he believes need it.
He’s been documenting his journey on Instagram, by sharing pictures of the people he’s aiding, as well as their name, location and how much he gave. It was on Instagram that The Game thanked Drake for taking part in the donation.
And he’s not the only one noticing Drake recently! His ex-girlfriend Rihanna was active this week sharing his lyrics via Twitter.
