Madonna knows a thing or two about struggling for success, and in her directorial debut, Filth and Wisdom, she follows that storyline. "One of the themes that I explore in the film is struggle,' says the newly minted director. "If I look back to the beginning of my career, I can recall these moments of struggle like it was yesterday." The film world-premiered at the Berlin film festival yesterday but didn't get the warmest welcome from critics. "Madonna has been a terrible actor in many, many films and now-fiercely aspirational as ever, she has graduated to being a terrible director," stated one review in the Guardian. In other words, don't quit your day job, Madonna.
