Come again? Derick Dillard took to Twitter on Thursday, Jan. 4, to try and make us think the fury of transphobic remarks he made last year were not directed at I Am Jazz star Jazz Jennings. When a fan called him out for bullying the teen trans advocate and reality TV personality, Derick, 28, was basically like, “Huh? Wasn’t me,” about it.

“Jazz did nothing to him to deserve the trash talking she received. So try again. Judge others like he does & you’ll be judged the same,” the tweeter wrote, to which Derick confusingly responded, “None of anything i said was directed at Jazz.”

But, like, um…WTF are you saying, dude? For reasons we may never understand, Derick — who is married to Jill Duggar, with whom he shares sons Israel, 2, and Samuel, 6 months — decided that it was a good idea to attack 17-year-old Jazz in a Twitter rant this past summer. “What an oxymoron… a ‘reality’ show which follows a non-reality,” he said in response to a tweet from TLC, promoting I Am Jazz. “‘Transgender’ is a myth. Gender is not fluid; it’s ordained by God.”

He later claimed that he harbors no ill will toward Jazz — even though he referred to her using the wrong pronoun. “I want to be clear. I have nothing against him. I only have issue with the words and definitions being propagated here,” he tweeted. In November, he doubled down on his transphobic views and misgendered Jazz yet again.

“I pity Jazz, 4 those who take advantage of him in order 2 promote their agenda, including the parents who allow these kinds of decisions 2 be made by a child,” Derick wrote. “It’s sad that ppl would use a juvenile this way. Again, nothing against him, just unfortunate what’s on tv these days.”

Days later, TLC announced that Derick will no longer be appearing on the Duggar family’s hit reality series, Counting On. “We want to let our viewers know that Derick Dillard has not participated in Counting On for months and the network has no plans to feature him in the future,” the network said in a statement. “We want to reiterate that Derick’s personal statements do not reflect the views of the network. TLC is proud to share the story of Jazz Jennings and her family and will continue to do so.”
