Actress Demi Moore expressed shock and sadness over the drowning of a 21-year-old man in the swimming pool at her Beverly Hills home, calling it an "unthinkable tragedy."
Edenilson Steven Valle, who was attending a party thrown by the star's assistant while she was away, was found dead in Moore's pool early Sunday morning.

"I am in absolute shock," the 52-year-old actress and mother of three said in a statement released through her publicist Heidi Lopata. "I was out of the country traveling to meet my daughters for a birthday celebration when I got the devastating news."
Valle was pronounced dead about 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Lt. Fred Corral of the Los Angeles County coroner told KTTV. Valle had only been in the water about 10-15 minutes, and his family and friends told detectives he didn't know how to swim. Police said he apparently slipped and fell into the pool, according to TMZ.
"The loss of a child is an unthinkable tragedy," Moore continued. "My heart goes out to this young man's family and friends."

Moore's three grown children with ex-husband Bruce Willis have reportedly been staying at her house and having "parties every day, day and night," a neighbor told TMZ. But investigators said that neither Moore nor any members of her family were there when Valle's body was discovered.
