In the pilot episode of Girls, Lena Dunham’s character, Hannah Horvath, tells her parents they need to support her ambitions as a writer because she suspects she may be the "voice of her generation."
And, well, it turned out she wasn’t totally wrong. With several Golden Globes under her belt, the 27-year-old showrunner has been praised for capturing the trials and tribulations of millennials’ lives with poise, honesty and wit.
But far fewer are praising the starlet’s acting abilities—which we think is total BS.
Sure, it’s her breakout role—but it’s impressive that her acting chops have many viewers convinced she is Hannah—from the neuroses, to the ill-fitting skirts and all the nudity in between.
Even we’ve caught ourselves confusing Lena with her on-screen counterpart—most recently, when she stepped out in New York City wearing a long-sleeved, printed shirt and the least flattering short shorts we have ever seen.
Of course, we eventually remembered—we hate Hannah’s style choices. Lena Dunham’s fashion game is actually pretty on point! Don’t believe us? Just check out the 6 photos below!
