For decades, it was widely believed by Nirvana fans that Courtney Love — who has openly battled substance abuse problems — used heroin while pregnant with Frances Bean Cobain, her now-22-year-old daughter with Kurt Cobain.
And in a new documentary about the late artist’s life, titled ‘KURT COBAIN: Montage of Heck,’ the 50-year-old confirmed those rumors to be true.

“I used it once, then stopped,” she said in the film. “I knew she would be fine.”
Fortunately, Frances turned out healthy — though the mother and daughter have had a tumultuous relationship in recent years.

The pair recently reunited at the Sundance Film Festival premiere of the documentary on Jan. 24. The two women hadn’t been photographed together in years, as the Hole singer lost custody of her daughter, then 17, in 2009.
They later butted heads again in 2012 when Courtney took to Twitter to accuse her late husband’s band mate, Dave Grohl, of hitting on her then-teenage daughter.
