Lyssa Chapman — a fixture on her dad’s A&E reality show, Dog the Bounty Hunter — hasn’t had the easiest life. The 30-year-old’s childhood can best be described as harrowing; her father was a crack addict, her mother was an alcoholic, and she became a teen mom at just 15. These days, however, she seems to be in a better place — literally. The reality star daughter is living her best life in Hawaii, and we can’t say we’re not jealous! Get to know more about Lyssa below:

She became pregnant at 14

In an interview with Fox News in 2013 for her book, Walking on Eggshells, Lyssa said, “I gave birth [to Abbie Mae] the day after my 15th birthday. Right after I had the baby, my mom moved with her boyfriend. Basically, she just stuck us in in a trailer and told us to pay rent. At one point, it was just me and my daughter and I was coming up with $500 rent every month by babysitting. I was too young for welfare or a homeless shelter. I really didn’t have many options. I was also getting with the guys who I knew had the most drugs.”

She accused her father of rape

In 2011, she falsely accused her father of raping her; she was molested by a friend of his. During the same Fox interview, she said, “It was a horrible life that I never wanted to go back to, living with him and Beth and the fighting and the drugs. When I got to my mother’s, although she drank, it was much more peaceful. I was in school, I had friends, I was willing to do anything to not go back.”

Yet according to her Facebook page, it looks like the relationship between Beth and Lyssa has gotten better. The two posed for a sweet snap together in April 2017.

She’s had run-ins with the law

In 2011, “Baby Lyssa,” as she was known on the show, was arrested for disturbing the peace after she was caught wandering the streets drunk at 3 a.m. She also had several violent fights with her estranged husband over the course of their short marriage.

She’s an entrepreneur

Aside from being a Licensed bondsman in Hawaii and a Licensed Bounty Hunter in Colorado, Lyssa is the owner of Proper Choice Inc, a non-profit foundation devoted to educating the community on teen pregnancy. She’s also the owner of No Tan Lines LLP, a local tanning salon. In the past, she said, “Teens are so bombarded with sex these days. It’s all about sex and then when they get pregnant it becomes this big glorified event or they’re shamed by their family. We’ve got to bring down those teen pregnancies rates.”

She found her “soulmate”

In June, Lyssa gushed about her “soulmate” Leiana on Instagram. In her lengthy post, she wrote, “I’m so in love and have never felt so loved. I have prayed and searched for this. You have changed me and my life forever and every day I’m with you is a blessing.”
