It’s been exactly one year since Glee star Cory Monteith sadly passed away. Now, his estranged father, Joe Monteith, has opened up about his death and life without him.
"I still miss him very much and I still have the empty feeling inside," Joe said in a new interview.
On July 13, 2013, Cory was found dead in his hotel room in Vancouver at the age of 31. Autopsy results showed the result of his death was from a heroin and alcohol overdose.
I personally believe Cory was reborn into some other beautiful form a year ago today. I celebrate him and his life... Wherever that may be.— Matthew Morrison (@Matt_Morrison) July 13, 2014
I personally believe Cory was reborn into some other beautiful form a year ago today. I celebrate him and his life... Wherever that may be.
'Glee' star Matthew Morrison sends out a tweet about Cory's passing on July 13.
"Cory was a likeable young man and if he was in the room, you'd be smiling," Joe added. "He enjoyed life. That's why I was so shocked at the whole outcome of everything."
Cory’s father started to rebuild his relationship with his son during the final years of Cory’s life. Unfortunately, Joe didn’t get to attend his son’s funeral since he wasn’t told about the funeral arrangements. Joe said he regrets not being able to say goodbye.
"I didn't get to go to his viewing, which, it would have meant a lot," Joe said in an interview with ET Canada, prior to revealing his ex-wife will be sending him some of Cory’s stuff.
