Christy Mack suffered the unthinkable when her ex-boyfriend, Jon "War Machine" Koppenhaver, brutally attacked her back in August.
Now, after months of healing, she's opening up in a new interview about the physical abuse and tumultuous relationship.
"I didn't look in the mirror for weeks," the 23-year-old told ‘ESPN.’ "Just feeling my face, I knew it wasn't right. So when I'd look in the mirror, it's not me — that person wasn't me. It's so hard to go every day without being you anymore."

The adult entertainer met her pro-fighter ex at a photoshoot in 2013 and instantly hit it off. She fell in love immediately, and he allegedly became abusive four or five months in.
“By that time I was totally in love with him," Christy recalled. "So, so in love. The first time I thought, 'Oh it'll never happen again.' The day after, he stayed home from training and coddled me. After every time he would hit me, those were the best days of our relationship."

At the time of the incident, Christy had a male friend spend the night before a tattoo convention. War Machine, 33, allegedly broke into her home with an old key, attacked the friend before asking him to leave and not to call the cops, and proceeded to brutally attack his ex.
Even though he was arrested, Christy faced backlash for what happened — and that was something she couldn't ignore. She decided to share the graphic images of her injuries and full story on Twitter.

"This is not acceptable," she told 'ESPN.' "I'm not going to sit around in my hospital bed and have people say that I did something wrong. This is what happened, so I decided to put it out there."
War Machine is currently in solitary confinement. He faces 32 felony counts and begins trial in September.
