Anyone who knows Mariah Carey knows that are a few things in her life that she constantly keeps high — her octaves, her bank account, and her self-esteem, to name a few. Despite all this — the infamous diva — managed to tell Page Six recently that she’s “always” had low self-esteem.

Umm… Are you sure about that, MiMi? We mean, you are the same person who has a song that asks “Why are you so obsessed with me?” She explained to Page Six, “I just feel like I am a regular human being and I deserve the same respect as anybody else. I have always had low self-esteem, and people do not recognize that.”

MUST SEE: Did Mariah Carey Have Plastic Surgery?

Furthering our point that she is 100 percent detached from reality, the mother-of-two also claimed — in a separate interview for Paper magazine — that she’s never had a “diva moment.” She rationalized, “No, I’ve never had a diva moment… I have had diva moments, and then people can’t handle it. I guess it’s a little intense, because I come from a true diva. My mother is an opera singer. And that’s a real diva, you know — a Julliard diva.”

We’re sorry — WHAT?! Did Mariah Carey seriously just imply that she’s never been a diva simply because she isn’t an opera singer? We mean, has she ever met herself? Or at the very least watched her own episode of Cribs. When she was wearing that sling on her arm for an extended period of time, did she think that everyone at the hospital got a bedazzled sling?

In fact, she insisted that whenever she turns on her diva voice — and starts dropped “Dahlings” in every sentence — she’s just channeling her mother, and saic that most people don’t fully understand because they weren’t raised by “true” divas. Listen, we’re down with the diva gate keeping — but if “understanding it” means being part of a world in which Mariah Carey is not a diva…. We’re good with being on the outside of this one!
