‘Charmed’ Reboot In
the Works (REPORT)
It’s been 15 years since Charmed came out (we know, we can’t believe it either), but it looks like the Book of Shadows is just as powerful as ever. Just like they were able to bring back their dead relatives, it looks like the power of three may bring back the beloved series!
As Vulture first reported, there is currently a reboot of the series in the works at CBS! Don’t mind us, we’re just fan-girling over here!
For those too young to remember the series (in other words: those who haven’t binge watched it on Netflix, TNT or Lifetime, YET), Charmed starred Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs, and
Shannen Doherty Rose McGowan as sisters and witches living in San Francisco. It ran from 1998 until 2006.
Vulture added that Party of Five co-creator Chris Keyser and partner Sydney Sidner are involved in writing the project, although other details are limited.
While plot details and other information remains to be seen, fans are speculating that the show will involve one of the sister’s children, while other fans are hesitant to that idea as one of the children is now an adult (there was time travel involved… seriously, do yourself a favor and watch).
The cast has remained close and has hinted in the past about being open to the idea of a reunion.
In 2012, Holly—who currently stars in Pretty Little Liars—teased that “the majority of the cast” would be open to the idea of the reunion.
Regardless of how this reboot plays out, it’s safe to say we’re excited. There are just so many questions; if the stars return, will the reunion resume where we left off 7 years ago because Holly, Alyssa and Rose haven’t aged? Who will come back? Will there be belly shirts?
