Channing Tatum Talks
About Magic Mike
Sequel: It'll Be Crazy
There aren't a lot of movie sequels that are as good as the original film but we have high hopes for Magic Mike 2. Channing Tatum is currently working on a script for the sequel to the hit film about male strippers and revealed that he might even direct it.
"Right now we're just trying to clean up the story," he told the Hollywood Reporter. And while Channing has been pleading with Magic Mike director Steven Soderbergh to come back and direct the sequel, the Oscar winner says he's done with helming films but offered to be the director of photography. But while Channing is eager to step behind the camera, he's a little overwhelmed by the idea of trying to do it in front of Steven.
"It would be like having sex with your girlfriend while her porn-star ex-boyfriend is in the room watching you," he says.
Regardless of who directs it, Channing says the sequel will be "crazy and fun and less slice-of-life and less drama."
"It will be a road-trip movie and it will essentially be the movie that everyone thought the first one was going to be," the new dad says. "The first one, we had to make not so cheesy and campy; this one we are going to swing for the fences."
As long as there are plenty of dance sequences featuring Channing (like the one below), we are so there!
