As a pageant participant, the newest Miss America is used to receiving criticism—and as the first Indian-American to be crowned Miss America, she’s been subjected to an extraordinary amount of racism and backlash.
Rest assured, plenty of celebrities have taken to Twitter to show their support for the 24-year-old Miss New York. While some shared excitement and others shared disbelief about the racism in the country, all of them stood behind the beauty queen.
