Stars like Taylor Swift love elongating their pretty peepers with a swipe of liquid eyeliner. In fact, it's a "go-to" for the 21-year-old country cutie, who admits she even used a Sharpie once, justifying, "I had no makeup with me." When sporting the winged-eye look, makeup artist and founder of Studio Sush, Susmta Patel, tells In Touch it's best to keep eye shadow to a minimum, explaining, "The eyeliner itself is bold and dark, so you don't want to take away from its effect by overdoing the rest of your eye makeup." Of course, just as Taylor learned, practice makes perfect! "I love the challenge of getting the line right every morning," says Taylor, adding she switched from pencils to liquid eyeliner for extra precision. What's the best way to get it right? "Apply liquid liner close to the lash line and with a quick flick at the corner of the eye," advises Patel. For extra drama, increase the thickness of the line as you near the corner of your eye — and be sure to step back and compare both eyes for symmetry.
