One of Hollywood’s longest standing couples, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, have announced their plans to separate after 13 years of marriage.
“Catherine and Michael are taking some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage,” a rep for the couple told In Touch.

The couple has two children togethter, 13-year-old Dylan and 10-year-old Carys.
Although this isn’t the first hardship that the couple has faced together; in 2010, he was diagnosed with throat cancer, for which he underwent chemotherapy and ultimately beat it.
The 43-year-old mother of two has also been actively receiving treatment for bipolar disorder; she first checked into a healthcare facility in 2011, and most recently this past April.

Catherine’s advocacy about mental health is just one example of how the couple continues to be honest about their personal lives. Most recently, Michael opened up about his cancer, which he revealed was caused by HPV (human papillomavirus).
Although the couple has call it quits, In Touch has learned that there are no immediate plans to divorce.
