Nearly a week after Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe Giudice were indicted on fraud and tax charges, Teresa's Real Housewives of New Jersey castmate Caroline Manzo is speaking out about the situation.
"I text her on the day of the indictment and I sent the message that I'll keep to myself," she revealed to Andy Cohen on his Bravo gabfest Watch What Happens Live on Sunday. "She responded back and I'm going to keep that to myself as well."
"I can't even wrap my head around it," the mom of three and author of Let Me Tell You Something said. "This is a big deal. And I think for us, the Housewives, we always comment on trivial things, and I think for me, you know, the Manzo family, I think our position is going to be just stay quiet because it's just too big and serious for the peanut gallery. I'm just going to leave it at that." In Touch reported last week that Teresa and Co would not be able to discuss the ongoing legal issues on the show.
Teresa, 41, and Joe, 43, were arrested last week and charged with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, bank fraud, making false statements on loan applications and bankruptcy fraud in a 39-count indictment. If they are found guilty, they could spend the rest of their lives in jail. Joe, who was born in Italy and never became a US citizen, also runs the risk of being deported.
After she was released from prison on $500,000 bail, Teresa made her first public appearance at the Beauty Buster Awards in NYC on July 31 where she collected an award and stayed for two hours chatting with fans. The judge in her case has ruled that neither Teresa nor Joe is allowed to leave the New York/New Jersey area.
The very next day, she boasted about her Hamptons trip with three of her four daughters and former fellow Housewife (and Caroline's sister) Dina Manzo on Twitter and Instagram.
