It’s official—Caroline Manzo has confirmed that she’s departing Real Housewives of New Jersey.
Following last night’s RHONJ reunion special—which recounted a rocky and dramatic season of the franchise—the 52-year-old took to Twitter to confirm that she’s done with the show.
It's been wonderful guys. I've decided to leave #RHONJ this season was my last. Love and kisses to you all. xoxoxo— Caroline Manzo (@CarolineManzo) October 14, 2013
Caroline elaborated on her decision on her Bravo blog, explaining that her feelings on the show have changed drastically since she first began filming.
“Over the past few years my outlook on the show has changed from something I couldn’t wait to show my future grandchildren to something I hope my future grandchildren never see,” she said.
She continued, “For me, peace and integrity cannot be bought with money or fame. I practice what I preach, and as I said on the reunion, I’m done. I simply feel that my role has run its course and I have nothing more to give.”
Fortunately for fans, they’ll still be able to get a regular helping of Caroline; she teamed up with Bravo to begin production of a spin-off series, Manzo’d With Children, which will—according to her blog—“give viewers a very different look into the world of the Manzo family.”
Additionally, with the departure of Caroline, rumors have flown about whether her estranged sister, Dina, will be returning to the show.
After multiple insiders confirmed to In Touch that Dina was in “serious talks” of replacing her sister, and last week, the 41-year-old reality star dished that the odds she’d return are “fifty-fifty.”
“I have been offered I can say that,” she told In Touch. “And they let me know who’s coming back and who’s not coming back this season and asked me if I would join, and I am considering it.”
