Caitlyn Jenner made a highly offensive joke while addressing last week’s GOP baseball practice attack in Alexandria, Virginia, that left House Majority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise critically injured.

The I Am Cait alum, 67, spoke out about the incident late last week at the College Republicans’ National Convention gala in Washington, D.C. Caitlyn joked that “liberals can’t even shoot straight” when asked for her thoughts about the terrifying shooting, in which Bernie Sanders supporter and Illinois native James Hodgkinson opened fire on Republican congressmen.

“Nobody deserves what happened out there,” the former Olympian said, according to a Facebook Live video shared by the College Republican Federation of Virginia. “There’s no justification for it. There’s crazy people in the world — we know that. … We have to minimize that kind of stuff. But, as far as the people who were injured, it’s an absolute shame. Fortunately, the guy was a really bad shot.”

“Liberals can’t even shoot straight,” Caitlyn added as the crowd erupted with laughter and applause.

After making the insensitive remark, the LGBTQ rights advocate hailed Officer Crystal Griner — an out lesbian — for her effort to try and take down the assailant at the baseball practice.

“She did her job. She wasn’t thinking about LGBT issues, she wasn’t thinking about any of those types of things,” Caitlyn said. “She did her job and she did it well.”

Though she vocally supported President Donald Trump ahead of last year’s election, the reality star slammed the 45th POTUS earlier this year when his administration reversed President Barack Obama‘s directive on transgender access to public school bathrooms.

“From one Republican to another, this is a disaster,” the longtime conservative fumed on Twitter in February, adding that Trump, 70, previously made a promise to “protect the LGBTQ community.”
