Dancing With the Stars became a battle of the reality beauties last night, when Denise Richards (star of Denise Richards: It’s Complicated) and Holly Madison (star of The Girls Next Door) found themselves in the bottom two and dancing to save their lives in the show’s dreaded dance-off. Despite getting 20 for their samba redo (far more respectable than the 16 they got on Monday’s show), it wasn’t enough, making Denise and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy the second couple to be eliminated this season. “I’ll miss everyone, but I am happy for everyone else that can stay,” Denise said after the show. While Denise goes back to work on season two of her reality show, Maksim is headed home for some overdue family time. But in a shocking announcement, it was revealed last night that two couples will be eliminated next week. Oh, the drama continues.

Eliminated March 24
“I have had enough drama in my life.”
Did you think you might go?
Maksim: When people sign up for this show, they base their enthusiasm on the dancing, then bam, you are in front of the judges and the comments are not so good. The thing that no one remembers is the red light and how nerve-wracking it is.
How hard is it being under that red light?
Denise: After watching it on TV, it is definitely intensified for real, and that music! I love the show so much, so to be on this side of it has been really fun.
And you were doing two shows at once, this and your reality show?
Denise: Yes, we’d rehearse from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. and then I’d be on-set for my show at 4:45 p.m. till 10 p.m. This show will be incorporated into my show. And when I drive back and forth they are in the car filming, getting my thoughts on how we did and all that stuff.
Did you have any reservations about doing the show?
Denise: I am at a time in my life when I don’t care, I have fun and live my life. I don’t care what people say. I am a huge fan of the show and one day it won’t be here and I’d have looked back and regretted not going on it. I wanted to have fun — I have had enough drama in my life and now want to have a good time.
Was it good getting a do-over of your dance from Monday night?
Denise: The audience response was so gracious, and at least we danced again, so we didn’t have to go out with what we did last night.
Maksim: It’s a fun show and a really tight group.
Denise: Everyone was just so supportive and lovely. I’ll miss everyone but I am happy for everyone else that can stay. Who would have thought that Steve-O would still be in, and I am happy for that. He loves the show and is having fun.
Maksim: Vote for Steve and Karina — I’m telling all my fans to vote for her!
Maksim, with Karina still on the show, will you be planning the wedding now?
Maksim: I planned the engagement but am not planning anything else, or anticipating the plans. I will participate, though. I am enjoying this time. I have been a very single guy up until now. I had a few relationships that didn’t last long, so I am enjoying this time. I’m looking forward to going home to New York, as I haven’t been home in a while. This is the first time I don’t have a bitter feeling about being eliminated. I can’t wait to get back to the show and meet a new celebrity — or someone old who may be coming back — you never know.
