Busta Rhymes — rapper known for hits such as “Touch It” and “Arab Money” — was arrested on Wednesday.
The 43-year-old allegedly threw a protein drink at a staff member from Steel Gym in NYC, following a verbal altercation. It is unclear if the victim sustained injuries, though Busta, whose real name is Trevor Tahiem Smith Jr., was taken into custody for second-degree assault.

“Things got heated. Busta splashed water on him and the employee threw water back. Busta’s security got between them,” an eyewitness told New York Daily News. "The cops came and (the employee) kept changing his story."
Busta was released early Thursday morning, and called the ordeal “stupid.”

“This is clearly an attempt by someone to take advantage of Busta. He did nothing wrong,” his lawyer Scott Leemon adds. “This is a bunch of bull.”
Busta is due back in court on November 6.
