Brooke Burke Cancer
Update: 'DWTS' Host
Receives Good News
Post Thyroid Surgery
Only one week after undergoing a thyroidectomy for thyroid cancer, Brooke Burke-Charvet has receieved some positive news from her doctors.
"I just got the results back from all of my tests and great news – the thyroid cancer has been removed from my body and all my lymph nodes are clear,” she wrote on the ModernMom website. “So I'm hoping that this is the end of the story. Woohoo!!! And thank GOD!"
The Dancing With the Stars host, who announced her cancer diagnosis in November, was vocal about her emotions and physical state leading up to—and after— her surgery,
"Every day I'm feeling better and I'm looking forward to getting back to my usual routine, but with a bit of a different outlook,” she wrote. “I've never been one to take life for granted and it sounds so cliché to say it, but this whole thyroid experience has given my family such a scare that it seems to have brought us all closer.”
Brooke is married to David Charvet, with whom she shares two children. The model also has two children with her former husband, Dr. Garth Fisher.
The mom of four continues, "It's allowing us to ring in the New Year with a new found respect for life.”
Congratulations, Brooke. We're so glad to hear you're on the road to recovery.
