Proving that she is in fact stronger than yesterday, Britney Spears and her camp have decided to take a very straightforward and simple approach to moving on with their lives following the pop star's split from her beau of 18 months, David Lucado -- and everyone seems to be happy with the decision.
Everyone, that is, except David.
TMZ reports that David, who got his walking papers from Miss Spears' when she was informed about a video of him dancing and making out with another woman, has been blocked from contacting Britney.
And to drive home just how serious they are about this, Team Brit Brit have supposedly blocked David's phone number, had him banned from Britney's Thousand Oaks estate, and even informed the staff at Planet Hollywood that David is not allowed in to see any of Britney's shows during the remainder of her hugely popular and successful Las Vegas residency.
David evidently wants to speak to Britney about the tape and put it in context. He has allegedly been telling friends the two were not "100% together." He has also been telling folks that Britney never even broke up with him, but rather had her people do it for her.
Definite celebrity perk right there.
Britney's people feel like she does not need to hear anything David has to say, and they really don't want the two to get back together. Probably for the best, if you take a look back at Britney's relationship history.
Her first boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, who could not just move on post-split and rejoice in successfully making that impossible transition from boy bander to world famous pop star, decided to get his revenge by releasing a wonderfully catchy song with lyrics that were equal parts haunting and just plain harsh about the demise of their relationship. As the perfect compliment, he decided to film a multi-million dollar music video that made what appeared to be some very major and damaging claims about Britney's role in their split.
Her next, very brief, relationship had no real impact on Britney's sanity, but it sure did take a toll on her team and her parents and a whole lot of lawyers, when heaven and Earth were moved, and lots of money dropped probably, to annul Britney's marriage to former childhood friend Jason Alexander in Las Vegas on New Year's 2004. Jason, a former flame of sorts, never signed a prenup before marrying the multi-multi-millionaire.
Then there was Kevin Federline, who Britney became engaged to seven months after her New Year's wedding in Vegas, marrying him in a small ceremony two-months later. Two years and two little children later, the pair got divorced, and Kevin became a very, very wealthy man.
From there, Britney entered a very dark period that took her parent's and manager years to help her recover from, and laid the groundwork for how Britney's wealth and business dealings are now handled.
So while Lucato may be sad and stung and a little bit hurt, it is pretty clear why Team Spears is going about things in this manner.
Now let's focus on who Britney should date next!
