Bobbi Kristina Brown has reportedly had surgery to replace her breathing tube with a tracheostomy tube, an individual close to the family claims.
The source — who is not authorized to speak on her condition — tells the Associated Press the 21-year-old had a tracheostomy, a procedure that involves cutting into a patient’s neck into the trachea (or windpipe) to allow direct access for the breathing tube.
Typically, it’s performed on patients who are going to be on a ventilator for an extended period of time.
