Ben Affleck has become the latest star to have skeletons unearthed by the Sony email leaks. And believe us — they go waaaaay back.
According to the emails, the soon-to-be incumbent Batman allegedly requested that PBS show 'Finding Your Roots' censor information about one of his ancestors: a slave owner.
In the email, the show's host, Henry Louis Gates Jr., tells Sony Entertainment CEO Michael Lynton: "For the first time, one of our guests has asked us to edit out something about one of his ancestors — the fact that he owned slaves."

The CEO responded, saying the information could just be removed. "I would take it out if no one knows," he wrote, "but if it gets out that you are editing the material based on this kind of sensitivity then it gets tricky. Again, all things being equal I would definitely take it out."

But Gates returned, saying the removal of the information would be "a violation of PBS policy" and explained that Anderson Cooper among other celebrity guests also had ancestors that owned slaves.
Ben has yet to comment on the revelations, but host Henry released a statement saying: "In the case of Mr. Affleck — we focused on what we felt were the most interesting aspects of his ancestry."
