The cast of Modern Family is finally ready to get back to work. The sitcom’s stars were at odds with the show’s production company over money. But now, according to reports, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara will be upped to as much as $175,000 an episode, a huge leap from their current $65,000 weekly take-home pay. They will also receive bonuses and a share of the total profits 20th Century Fox Television earns off the show.
Ed O’Neill, who plays patriarch Jay Pritchett, had been earning more than the others, but now they are all on an equal footing. They have also added an eighth year to their contracts, where their salaries will grow to about $350,000 an episode each.
The one loser appears to be the pooch that played Jay’s dog Stella (real name Brigitte). One report says the French bulldog has been dumped and replaced by a furry look-alike.
