With its biggest cast ever, season nine of Dancing With the Stars bid farewell to two couples last night in a double elimination. Sadly, it was Ashley Hamilton and Macy Gray who were forced to retire from the ballroom. Ashley failed to deliver with his fox-trot on Monday night's show, while Macy, who charmed the judges with her Viennese waltz on Tuesday, didn't deliver technically. Both couples received just 15 points each for their efforts. "I kind of felt it, and getting the low scores from the judges, I felt we were in trouble," Ashley said after the show. And there is no doubt Macy will be sadly missed by her competitors, as all agreed that she brought something special to the show. "She was the entertainment of the show," admitted Lacey Schwimmer after the news. "I was so shocked she went"
Next week, the remaining 14 couples will battle it out in front of guest judge Baz Luhrmann of Moulin Rouge! fame.

Dancing With the Stars
Ashley Hamilton & Edyta Sliwinska
Eliminated: September 23
"I dropped 15 pounds - and 15 pounds of self-esteem after tonight."
What was the best part of the experience?
Ashley: Being employed - for sure. Now it's back to the unemployment line and back to my day job, which is putting tanning oil on my dad's back.
Edyta: Well, at least you didn't lose your sense of humor. And I guarantee you will have a day job.
What did you learn about yourself?
Ashley: That you can do anything, even if you think you can't. Just go out there and have fun, no matter how you look and what people think. To do something you have never done. And in just four weeks, go out there in front of millions of people and your family, and have fun with the process. Under pressure, you can do it, and it's been great.
Edyta: He's a great guy. But we'll stay friends and will do things together.
Did you think this might be your last night?
Ashley: I kind of felt it, and getting the low scores from the judges, I felt we were in trouble. There are so many guys with big fanbases, and I knew being there with Michael Irvin and him being a football legend and Super Bowl hero, we didn't have a chance.
Did your dad, George Hamilton, give you advice about doing the show?
Ashley: His advice was just drink a Red Bull and smile, and I thought we got that down, well the Red Bull part.
Did you see any significant body changes?
Ashley: I dropped 15 pounds - and 15 pounds of self esteem after tonight.
Edyta: For him, it's literally been a life-changing experience. The fact he is even dancing and lost weight, and we did a cleanse together to detox - it was just a great experience, and no matter what, it was worth it.
Ashley: I'd do it all over again, and hoped to get to do another week.
Ashley: Hopefully, this might lead to more acting, and in my comedy act, I work four or five night a week. And dancing? I will, but only if it's in a movie - and I don't think anyone would ever hire me for that in a movie, unless I was an epileptic on meth and was dancing like that. I am not saying I can't dance, but everyone I come in to contact with says I can't.
Dancing With the Stars
Macy Gray & Jonathan Roberts
Eliminated: September 23
Did you see any major body changes while doing the show?
Macy: I have lost a lot of weight and used a lot of muscles I never used before.
Jonathan: Maybe ever.
Macy: The first week, I was sore, and I have noticed a difference in my legs and my ass, of course. It's good, and now I think people that have kids should put them in dance because it's something you can use even if you don't become a pro. It does great things for you and your body.
What was the main reason you wanted to do the show?
Macy: My mom said I needed to learn how to dance and step out of my comfort zone and try new things, grow some more. So it's more of a challenge than anything. I spent the first week wishing that I hadn't done the challenge. I was terrified - you have no idea.
You seemed so confident.
Macy: That's all an act - I am in show business.
Jonathan: And I have to say, Macy is quite the actress. When we had to do our little dialogues and stuff, she was pretty good - I think she has a career coming up.
How was your first meeting?
Jonathan: It was kind of a disaster the first couple of days. I don't think Macy liked me.
Macy: No, I was cool, I liked him a lot.
Jonathan: Nah, I don't know. I would move closer and she'd back away. We were going around the room in circle - I think she was scared of the dance stuff.
Macy: I was scared of the whole thing.
How did you win her over?
Jonathan: Old Spice.
Macy: No, he is really adorable and a passionate dancer, and it's always infectious when you are around someone who loves what they do and you get excited about it, too. He just can't stop dancing.
Jonathan: The first thing she did to me was this [draws a square in the air]!
Macy: He's a big dork!
Jonathan: I worked on the dancing, and she worked on the cool.
