AnnaLynne McCord was raised in a strict, conservative household—but got her first sex toy when she was 11 years old.
And then used it to “take her own virginity” when she was just 12.
“I think if I break it down—I obviously don’t know what that little 12-year-old kid was thinking at this point—but there was always a power struggle for me,” she confesses, adding she felt “powerless” and without a voice at this time.
“I associated [sex]—and this is probably tapping into what Sigmund Freud has always said, which is that everything in life is about sex except for sex, which is about power—and for me, it was about power. It was, ‘No one’s gonna take this from me.’”
The 90210 actress learned to embrace her power and at 15 years old convinced her then-recently divorced parents to let her move to Miami to pursue a career in modeling.
While there, she had her first intimate “down-there” experience, with a man—who happened to be 14 years her senior. She claims he knew she was 15 at the time.
“I needed to get out, and I’m so happy that I did because I started my healing at that moment—the moment I broke free,” she shares on Access Hollywood.
“And I went crazy wild because when you repress your child, they go cray cray,” she adds with a laugh.
While she says she has a positive relationship with her parents now, she went through a lot of trauma to get to that point—including being raped in Hollywood when she was 18.
Recently, she responded with I CHOOSE, a short film that she wrote, directed and starred in to bring forth a conversation about consent and human trafficking in the modern world.
