Although Anna Paquin put on her old Rogue costume and filmed a sequence for the latest X-Men film, the actress found out that her scene was cut from the final version of the film by director Bryan Singer.
Oscar winner Anna, 31, played good girl Rogue in the original X-Men trilogy and had planned to briefly reprise her role in the prequel X-Men: Days of Future Past, which stars James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, and Michael Fassbender as younger versions of the beloved characters. However, her scene ended up on the cutting room floor.
"Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous. It's a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it," the director told Entertainment Weekly, adding that the True Blood star was "very professional" and "awesome." He added, "I would work with her again in a heartbeat."
Still, the news has to be disappointing for fans of the hit movie series and of the New Zealand-born star. But there is something else to watch out for: Halle Berry will return as her character, Storm, as will Patrick Stewart, who plays the older version of James McAvoy's character Professor X.
