Will Angelina Jolie's next big project be a book?
The actress and humanitarian recently went through one of the toughest periods in her life when she voluntarily underwent a double mastectomy to reduce her risk of getting breast cancer. Both Angelina's mom Marcheline Bertrand and her aunt Debbie Martin died of the disease, putting the 38-year-old Oscar winner at high risk for the deadly cancer.
After a brave New York Times op-ed article where she explained her mastectomy decision, book publishers began reaching out to Angelina about writing her memoirs. The actress, who is engaged to her longtime partner Brad Pitt, is reportedly considering the offers.
"She has always wanted to do this and believes the time is now right," a friend of the mother of six told the British newspaper the Daily Star. According to the paper, publishers are offering as much as $50 million for the rights to publish the book, which would smash records for being the highest book advance in history.
Among the topics that might come up in Angelina's memoirs? The actress has long had a contentious relationship with her dad, actor Jon Voight. She's also been married twice, to Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton, and has made no secret of her previous relationships with women, including model Jenny Shimizu. The "Girl, Interrupted" star has also been extremely open about her history of drug use and her wild child past.
"No issues - apart from those that might damage her children's privacy - will be taboo," a source told the Daily Star.
