Say it ain’t so!
It’s just been confirmed that Anderson Cooper will not be back to host a third season of his talk show Anderson Live!, as the program is being cancelled indefinitely.
Warner Brothers released a statement earlier today about the show’s termination.
“We are extremely proud of Anderson and the show that he and the entire production team have produced,” the network says. “While we made significant changes to the format, set and produced it live in its second season, the series will not be coming back for a third season in a marketplace that has become increasingly difficult to break through. We will continue to deliver top-quality shows throughout next summer.”
So what does Anderson have to say about the discontinuation of his own program?
“I am very proud of the work that our terrific staff has put into launching and sustaining our show for two seasons,” he released in a statement today. “I am also grateful to Telepictures for giving me the opportunity, and indebted to viewers, who have responded so positively. I look forward to doing more great shows this season, and though I’m sorry we won’t be continuing, I have truly enjoyed it.”
Though we’re sad to see the show go, we know this won’t be the last we’re seeing of the anchor we all know and love. Just this morning, Anderson was on assignment in New Jersey covering Hurricane Sandy.
Be safe, Anderson! We can’t wait to see what’s in store for you next.
