Amy Schumer has spoken out after a shooting at a screening of her movie, Trainwreck, claimed the lives of two people — in addition to leaving another nine injured — after a gunman opened fire at a movie theater in Lafayette, La., authorities confirmed.
The shooter — whose identity has not been released, beyond being a 58-year-old white man — killed himself, dying of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after opening fire on movie-goers, claiming two lives.

Upon hearing news of the tragedy, the 34-year-old comedian spoke out on Twitter, writing, “My heart is broken and all my thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Louisiana.”

As of press time, officials believe the shooter acted alone.
In a statement to the media, Col. Michael Edmondson of the Louisiana State Police said, “There’s nothing to believe that there was any kind of motive.”
