Little people, big…problems. Amy Roloff opened up on the most recent episode of Little People, Big World about why it’s hard to invite Caryn Chandler — the manager of the family farm and Matt Roloff‘s girlfriend — to family functions. She said, “Caryn is an employee and in a personal relationship with my ex-husband, so it is still hard to invite Caryn to some of the family events. I’d rather minimize the personal interaction. It’s not healthy for me.”

Amy continued to open up about her current relationship with Matt — something she rarely does — and said, “Even though it’s a challenge with Matt and I living on the farm together, being divorced but still business partners, we are still doing our best to communicate with one another.” The couple shares four kids together — twins Jeremy and Zach, Molly and Jacobannounced their divorce in 2015 after 27 years of marriage.

Since then, both Amy and Matt have moved on, however, their living situation makes things difficult when it comes to being together as a family. Amy continued, “I’m not sure for me if it will ever be as easy as I like to talk to him, whether it be business or otherwise, but we do make sure that if we’re having a family gathering that we both each know about it.” This event, in particular, is the baby shower for Amy and Matt’s daugther-in-law, Audrey Roloff.

And while Amy ultimately decided to invite Caryn to the shower, the decision wasn’t easy. She explained, “It is hard for me to say, ‘Yeah, go ahead and invite Caryn,’ because it is someone I’ve known for a long time. Matt’s worked with her for many, many years, and that will always hurt to some degree, but it’s something that I will have to be an adult about.”

Although there might be a bit of tension between Caryn and Amy, it’s not because she’s still heartbroken by her split from Matt. Amy is currently in a happy relationship with Chris Marek and spent part of the most recent episode planning his birthday party.
