Doting Dad! Amber Portwood’s Boyfriend Reads to His Unborn Son in Sweet New Instagram Post
Aww! Amber Portwood has yet to give birth to a baby boy, but her boyfriend, Andrew Glennon, is already there for his son. The Teen Mom OG star took to Instagram to share a sweet snap of her growing belly, and wrote in the caption, “Andrew reading his baby book and me making sure little James is a healthy boy!!? #LifeisBeautiful.”
Yet her pregnancy hasn’t been without a few bumps in the road. Recently, the 27-year-old revealed she has gestational diabetes. “My morning sickness has been getting worse, so I went to the doctor and found out I have gestational diabetes,” Amber said in a new clip for the show. “I feel like I could just like go to sleep right now,” she told Andrew. “I need to eat some fruit or something. Maybe my sugar’s just low.” Immediately, Andrew gave her a fruit cup and said, “I’m gonna look up some diabetes diets right now for you.”
Luckily, Amber caught the condition early, but she’s still frustrated. “I can’t really enjoy my pregnancy as much,” she continued in the clip, adding that she’s “always feeling tired, always feeling useless.” She concluded, “This pregnancy — I don’t know if it’s because I’m older — has definitely been a lot more rough.”
Many people didn’t even know Amber and her ex-fiancé, Matt Baier, split before revealing she was pregnant. However, it seems like she’s learned a few lessons from their tumultuous relationship — like keeping her finances “completely separate” from the man she’s dating. “With Matt, we had joint accounts, businesses together, things like that, and I’ve learned my lesson,” she recently told Us Weekly. “My money is my money, and when we’re together, we can help each other and be there for each other and take care of this child. But you know, Andrew is really good at knowing that we both have boundaries in certain things.”
As for a ring? They’re in no rush to walk down the aisle. “We’re not talking about that,” the Forever Haute founder told E! News. “Right now, we’re happily living together and seeing where everything goes. Obviously, we jumped the gun and we’re having a baby, but I don’t know. He drops little hints here and there about things, but we haven’t necessarily talked about it.”
