Amanda Bynes resurfaced on Twitter with a picture yesterday, May 15—but instead of a bizarre selfie, she posted a gorgeous shot with her older sister, Jillian.
“Me and my beautiful sister [Jillian],” the fashion student captioned the pic.
In the picture, the 28-year-old looks happier and healthier in the smiling snap with her sibling.
Fans last saw Amanda on Twitter on April 5, days after her 28th birthday, while she was vacationing in Mexico with her parents. She posted a bikini pic and thanked fans for their well wishes on her special day.
In March, she tweeted from her runway debut at Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, where she’s currently studying fashion, but has otherwise remained largely quiet on the social media front since she was discharged from the in-patient facility where she was treated for more than two months.
Despite reports she was being treated for schizophrenia, her mother claims Amanda’s erratic behavior—including an arrest for allegedly throwing a bong out of a building, an incident in which she reportedly lit a stranger’s driveway on fire and many, many strange tweets—was caused by Amanda’s marijuana use, not mental illness.
“Amanda has no mental illness whatsoever. She has never been diagnosed with schizophrenia or bipolar [disorder],” the family’s attorney, Tamar Arminak said on behalf of her mom, Lynn.
“She is very sorry for all the hurtful tweets, statements and actions that occurred while she was under the influence of marijuana.”
