Yesterday afternoon, it was revealed that Amanda Bynes was arrested in the early hours of the morning on Sunday, Sept. 28.
As In Touch Weekly reported, she was booked on a misdemeanor after officials “determined she was under the influence of a controlled substance.” She was later held at the Van Nuys, Calif. station before being released on $15,000 bail.
However, more details have since surfaced about her arrest—and In Touch has gathered all the details you need in one place.
You can thank us later.
Amanda was allegedly under the influence of Adderall at the time of her arrest. Law enforcement sources say she was under the influence of the stimulant—which was prescribed by a doctor—at the time of her arrest. Even though she was prescribed it, she still operated a vehicle while impaired.
Her parents currently don’t know where she is. Amanda’s parents, Lynn and Rick, spoke out yesterday and said they don’t know where she is or what she’s doing. They learned of the arrest from the media, and say they haven’t been in touch with her since earlier this month, when her conservatorship ended and she moved out.
Sources say she’s smoking weed again. Lynn once blamed all of her daughter’s issues on marijuana— and now, insiders tell TMZ that she’s not only smoking again, but is also off her anti-psychotic medication (which she takes for her schizophrenia and bipolar disorder).
Rick and Lynn are allegedly in denial about their situation. Amanda’s parents have long denied that their daughter is suffering from any kind of mental illness. But now a source says her parents didn’t think it was necessary to continue her conservatorship. According to the source, “It was only a matter of time until Amanda got arrested for driving under the influence. This all could have easily been avoided if her mom had extended the conservatorship.”
There’s a chance she could face mandatory jail time. Criminal defense attorney Troy Slaten says if she’s convicted of a second-offense DUI, it could mean bad news as “the law requires a minimum of 96 hours (or four days) of jail.” Not to mention, she’s still on probation from her reckless driving incident.
Amanda might’ve failed out of fashion school As a student at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, Amanda seemed to be thriving. But according to a source close to the troubled starlet, all that changed when her conservatorship ended. The source said, “Amanda just stopped going to classes. Everything had been going very well for her up until the conservatorship ended. Her instructors tried to reach out to Amanda, given her history of very public breakdowns, but got no response.”
