Although Adele has been incredibly successful as a singer, there are rumors that the musician might be making the transition into acting. She has reportedly been offered the role of Dusty Springfield in a movie based on the life of the late soul singer.
Adele, who hasn't made many public appearances since becoming a mom to son Angelo, hasn't commented on whether she'll take the part. But Adele has plenty in common with Dusty: British roots, big hair, and an incredible voice.
Dusty is best known for her hit "Son of a Preacher Man." The movie has been in the works for some time now, and Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth was being considered for the lead at one point.
Playing famous singers is a great way to win an Academy Award. Recently, it has worked for Reese Witherspoon (who played June Carter Cash in Walk the Line), Jamie Foxx (for starring as Ray Charles in Ray), and Marion Cotillard (for her portrayal of Edith Piaf in Ma Vie En Rose).
25-year-old Adele already has one Oscar to her credit. She won the Best Original Song trophy for "Skyfall," which was the theme for the James Bond movie of the same name.
