In news that is sure to terrify the parents of teenage women across the country, 57-year-old actor Steven Bauer, best known for his role in the film Scarface and a brief marriage to Melanie Griffith, is dating 18-year-old aspiring journalist Lyda Loudon.
Steven Bauer, who from here on out will be best known as the creepy old man who dated a teenager.
The pair, whose relationship was confirmed by US Weekly, made their first public appearance at the Magic in the Moonlight premiere in Hollywood on Monday, July 21. Magic in the Moonlight, the new film from director Woody Allen.
This sequel to the flop relationship that was Doug Hutchison and Courtney Stodden does seem to be a bit different than the original however, and in ways that suggest this couple might actually be the real deal. Doug was an out-of-work actor giving acting lessons to teens over the computer when he fell for a 16-year-old Courtney, whose dreams we were never really clear on, but seemed to involve doing things in front of cameras in as little clothing as possibly, while hobbling around in towering Lucite heels.
By comparison, Steven currently stars on Showtime's hit series Ray Donvan and has three movies set for release in the next two years. As for Lyda, she is an aspiring journalist who, as you can see, prefers a casual knit dress to hot pants and a padded bra when hitting the red carpet.
We think this kid and adult may actually have a shot at making it work.
Not much else is known about the pair yet, but we have no doubt we will be hearing all about them in the coming weeks.
