In Touch previously reported that 90 Day Fiancé star Josh Batterson had a history with the law, but now his ex-wife is opening up in a new interview with Reality Blurb about the violent altercations that eventually ended their marriage. Mel — who did not wish to reveal her last name — started dating Josh in 2008. They got married in 2012 before divorcing in 2013 and have no kids together; he has two teenage children — a boy and a girl — from a previous relationship.

According to the police report, Josh was arrested for assault and disorderly conduct on Mar. 14, 2010. Cops had to knock down the door to get to Josh after he allegedly punched a 28-year-old woman in the face and “pushed her down a small embankment outside their apartment building.” Cops could hear the woman screaming for help inside the home while Josh refused to let them in. The case was ultimately dropped after the woman refused to cooperate. We now know that this “woman” was Mel.

“He did punch me in the face that night for sure,” she revealed. “I didn’t press charges because it was the first incident and I was stupid and in love.”

Yet she admitted this wasn’t the first time Josh got violent with her. “Definitely wasn’t the only time with me. And he stated to me he only got violent when he drank and he only drank because he couldn’t smoke weed. I wouldn’t let him.”

As for whether or not she believes his current fiancé, Aika, is in danger? “She very well could be, but I can’t say for certain. I don’t know Josh at this time in his life and do believe people can change.”
