Melissa McCarthy recently opened up about how hard it was to find a designer willing to dress her for the Oscars two years ago—but it may have been because of her attitude, not her size!
“Quite frankly, she was difficult to work with,” designer Christian Soriano told the New York Daily News of the Bridesmaids star.
“She wanted some specific things that I thought would not look good on her body. And she was not comfortable with them in the end.”

Shannen Doherty
Shannen Doherty ditched starring roles on two different shows (Beverly Hills, 90210 and Charmed) because of the tension she brought to set.
“We never really found out what happened,” her Charmed costar Alyssa Milano said last year.
“I can tell you that we were on the air with her for three years, and there were definitely some rough days.”

Naomi Campbell
Naomi Campbell has long had the reputation of being a diva—but things took a drastic turn earlier this year when a model on her show The Face said she needed psychiatric care to recover from the bullying she endured at the hands of Naomi.
“Naomi hates Russians,” the model, Kira Dikhtyar, told Page Six.
“She’s an amazing woman, but it’s very hard to work with her. She put all her [negative] energy on me. After filming ended, they sent me to doctors. I’m still recovering.”

Shia LaBeouf
Trouble seems to follow the problematic Shia LaBeouf.
Tensions reached a seemingly impossible high on the Broadway production of Orphans, opposite Alec Baldwin.
“[Shia] seems to carry with him, to put it mildly, a jailhouse mentality wherever he goes,” the 30 Rock star wrote in an essay he penned for New York Mag.
“I’d heard from other people that he was potentially very difficult to work with, but I also ignore that people say the same thing about me. When he showed up, he seemed like a lot of young actors today—scattered, as he was coming from making six movies in a row or whatever.”

Lea Michele
It’s been said that Lea Michele is a diva on the set of Glee—much like her character Rachel.
At one point, a source revealed Kate Hudson described the songstress as “a nightmare.”
“Once, during a technical delay, Lea snapped her fingers and said, ‘Let’s go. I have plans!’” the Us Weekly source added.

Katherine Heigl
After departing from Grey’s Anatomy because of paycheck disputes, Katherine Heigl’s reputation of being a hard-to-work-with actress with a controlling momager took on a life of its own.
“I have never experienced anything like Nancy Heigl,” a source told The Hollywood Reporter.
“It’s about the mouth. F–k you. You are a f–king liar… Whatever you’d say, you were an idiot. The call would be, ‘This is the worst craft service we’ve ever had! There’s nothing to eat! This is the worst wardrobe!’
“You knew that every day, you were going to get slammed. The frustrating part is [Heigl] is incredibly talented and smart."

Dustin Hoffman
Unlike many other stars, Dustin Hoffman’s reputation of being difficult wasn’t because he was demanding—it was because he was dedicated.
The devotion he put in to each and every role made it difficult for those around him, even at risk of garnering a “difficult” reputation, which he didn’t shy away from.
“Difficult? Or meticulous? Maybe they are one in the same,” he once said in an interview about his on-set behavior.
