Emile Hirsch came under fire on January 25 for assaulting Paramount executive Daniele Bernfeld at Tao Nightclub in Park City, Utah in the wake of the Sundance Film Festival.

TMZ reported yesterday that the 30-year-old pled guilty to misdemeanor assault and will spend 15 days in prison, in addition to paying a $4,750 fine and completing 50 hours of community service.

“Hirsch appeared intoxicated and asked why she looked ‘so tough’ and said she was a ‘rich kid’ who should not be at Sundance,” police told TMZ at the time of the incident.

Shortly after Daniele walked away from the actor, he allegedly went up behind her and placed her in a chokehold. She told the outlet she thought she was going to die.

“Emile consumed an enormous amount of alcohol on the evening in question and he has no memory of what happened,” Emile’s spokesperson Robert Offer said.

“Emile takes these allegations very seriously, and is devastated that any of this has occurred. A few days after the incident, Emile sought help and checked himself into an alcohol rehabilitation facility, where he remains today, to ensure nothing like this ever happens again.”

The charge will be dismissed upon completion of the sentence.
