Shortly after In Touch Weekly broke news that Josh Duggar molested five minors when he was a teenager, social media erupted — as fans were outraged to discover the 19 Kids and Counting star’s controversial past.

And now, Montel Williams is among the people who are slamming the 27-year-old dad.

“BREAKING: Josh Duggar, a world-class bigot, admits [to] sexually abusing young girls – [he] has consistently stated that LGBT folks [are a] danger to kids,” the talk show host tweeted.

“Gosh, yet another anti-gay alleged ‘Christian’ defender turns out to be a garden variety scumbag.”

The 58-year-old brought up Josh’s involvement with the Family Research Council, which is a conservative lobbying group known for its “traditional family values.”

The group’s one-time executive director and the FRC parted ways shortly after the father-of-three broke his silence and confirmed that the information detailed by In Touch Weekly in the police report (below) were accurate.

“Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret,” he said in a statement.

“I hurt others including my family and close friends. I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation. We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing, and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life.”

In the wake of the scandal, his parents — Jim Bob and Michelle — and his wife, Anna (who is currently pregnant with the couple’s fourth child) have remained by his side.

Josh insists his life has been plagued by regret.

“I would do anything to go back to those teen years and take different actions,” he explained.

“I sought forgiveness from those I had wronged and asked Christ to forgive me and come into my life. In my life today, I am so very thankful for God’s grace, mercy and redemption.”
